After a career in international banking spanning some 27 years John Lawrence was appointed by the UK Government to set up a financial services regulatory role in the Caribbean Territories of Turks & Caicos, Montserrat and Anguilla.

During this time he also served on a number of Caribbean Financial Action Task Force, CFATF assignments to other Caribbean jurisdictions.

He has been resident in Anguilla since 1998 and after retiring as the Director of the Anguilla Financial Services Commission in 2007 he has worked on setting up compliance functions in both the insurance and banking industry within Anguilla.

He is currently Chairman of an Offshore Bank based in Anguilla and is Vice Chairman of the Anguilla Compliance Association.
